Tax season has finally passed and it is a good idea to get tax records in order now to streamline the process for the next season. For most of us business owners tax rules and compliance is a major headache. Just one tax question can trigger an avalanche of research. Reading through tax forms and navigating through complicated IRS publications can become very time consuming.
Fortunately, the IRS has made some great upgrades to their online services during National Small Business week 2017 and is promoting their online services to business owners to get forms and other information faster and easier.
Visit the IRS Small Business and Self-Employed Tax Center for important information that start ups and small business owners need to know. The site is very easy to navigate and provides convenient at-a-glance resources to all kinds of informative material, tax forms and help topics to include online learning workshops.
Their Virtual Workshop is a great resource for the business owner to learn valuable information about tax topics. Viewers can customize lessons by clicking links under the main menu to access information for their specific businesses and particular tax responsibilities without having to sit through the entire length of the workshop for topics that do not pertain to them. Also, a great feature is the reference guide to the left of the video on popular topics offering more online information on every day challenges businesses experience.
Another useful feature is the IRS Tax Calendar for a complete listing of due dates for all taxable events for the year. To customize and print the calendar for your own business tax schedule click on tools at the top right corner.
